Hasbro to expand into digital gaming via online arena

Agreement with RealNetworks follows 2005 reacquisition of digital media rights from Infogrames Entertainment SA

The Hasbro Properties Group, the intellectual property development arm of Pawtucket-based toymaker Hasbro Inc. announced Monday a global licensing agreement with RealNetworks Inc., a Seattle-based developer, publisher and Web-based distributor of games.

The agreement with RealNetworks follows Hasbro's expansion in the digital media category following the company's reacquisition of its... rights to brands such as Transformers, My Little Pony, Tonka, Magic: The Gathering, Connect Four, Candy Land and Playskool, as well as hundreds more of its worldwide toy and game brands
