Cox Communications Inc. says it has given its Rhode Island customers another boost in the speed of their Internet connections.

Cox said this is the seventh year in a row it has increased speeds for customers who subscribe to its Preferred, Premier, or Ultimate high-speed Internet services. The increases took effect on May 5.
