It’s very good news that the New England Institute of Technology and East Greenwich have approved a deal to facilitate NEIT’s creation of a new main campus there, which could add another ornament to the state’s distinguished collection of campuses.

NEIT is currently a Warwick-based commuter college that has done great work in training people mostly from modest socio-economic backgrounds, but its long-range plan is to transform itself into a full residential campus — dorms, athletic facilities, the works.
