Former CEO of Hasbro says exporting grows business and adds jobs on home turf
Retired doesn’t adequately describe the life of Alan Hassenfeld, the former CEO of Hasbro, Inc. In December 2005, he did retire as company chairman and became the nonemployee chairman of the executive committee. Two years earlier he had stepped down as CEO of the Pawtucket toy company founded by his grandfather.
But Hassenfeld has not slowed down. In the last six months he visited more than a dozen countries, including China, England, France, Germany, Ireland and Malaysia. He visits in capacities that vary from representing Hasbro to talking about his years as an executive and helping charitable organizations.
In June he spoke at the Bryant University World Trade Day and with Providence Business News about global trade and his post-CEO days.
