Passion for the art drives members of R.I. Film Collaborative to make movies

Formed in 2006 by a merger between the Rhode Island Film Alliance and the Providence Film Collaborative – fledgling groups formed only a year or two before – the collaborative today has a membership of 2,800. It regularly sees 40 to 60 people attend its monthly meetings at the Wild Colonial Tavern on South Water Street in Providence and recently began offering classes in various aspects of moviemaking, according to Mike Ryan, vice president and spokesman.
