Oops! I was wrong. Found this Mar 24,2009 Doc about "Knowledge District" http://tiny.cc/lfYM7 Moved Business From Bos to Providence for 2 years ago and I have found news in Providence sort of like deep mine excavation! Wish we had better news resources. Sincerely, Tony Russ www.designprov.com

Highchairdesign of course you will be a part of The Providence Design District if you choose. I believe design members outside Greater Downcity Providence who are throughout RI will be the real life force of this "Design District!"
We want to include all commercial designers, we are just starting from the center and moving outward. We had to start somewhere. FYI - The Providence Design District is a private business locally owned and operated not associated with government, schools or universities in the City or national designer associations like - AIGA - although they are welcome sponsors - All!
To explain... we entered the 2009 RI Business Plan Competition this year for "The Providence Design District" and earned an "Honorable Mention" - the website was a quick design to show competition judges the scope of the project and business idea. We kicked off Monday, April 13th. Our site is still "Under Construction" until June 15th. But also note, we don't plan to be a dazzling flashy website, our design district members - who will we will promote - will be the real razzle and dazzle!
Highchairdesign your expertise, comments & membership are all welcome!
Already the discussion is moving forward with these posts and more discussion about stories and regular news events with the Providence Business News.
Finally, it is a tough task to move creative people. I am hoping that my years of experience with association marketing and communications will make a difference.
The true success of this venture will be when Providence - maybe the last "Great City in the World" realizes that ...
"Providence & RI Design is Just as Good and Better than Some!"
Sincerely,
Tony Russ Ruspantini

Thanks for the Postive Feedback!
We go online officially June 15th... Under Construction Until Then.
This is a Private business and it's goal is to bring Commercial Design Business to Providence Design, Marketing, PR & Communications companies.
Inspired by "Mad Men" of Madison Ave. along with the concept that a district can help promote far more than any individual business.
And lastly, to quote Gob Bluth from "Arrested Development" the FOX TV Show...
"Come On! Providence!" Get your act together design businesses and raise your standards!"
"Come On!"
