WRNI websiteAbout Me
I'm the General Manager of WRNI since May 2006 and brokered the agreement to take the station independent of WBUR and Boston University which included the purchase of 102.7FM. WRNI is now locally owned and operated by Rhode Island Public Radio. (Please pledge at wrni.org!!!) I previously was the Senior Producer for the program "On Point," produced for NPR by WBUR.
I first worked as a producer for CNN when it first began, then spent 22 years at ABC News starting as a news writer for ABC radio. I have been a producer for Good Morning America, Nightline and PrimeTime Live.
In 1994, I became the Senior Producer in Washington for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, in charge of all news coverage in the nation's capital. I've worked on almost every story imaginable, from the democracy protests in Tianamen Square to the 1st Gulf War to home-equity fraud in South Central Los Angeles.
I received my undergraduate degree from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and my masters in broadcast journalism from Boston University. I have been a leader in the Parent Encouragement Program, which offers parenting classes in the Washington D.C. area. I have had the distinct privilege of coaching both of my kids' grade school soccer and basketball teams which, by far, outweighs the five Emmys, two Columbia DuPont Awards and a Peabody Award I received while working for Ted Koppel.
I believe Rhode Island is one of the nation's best kept secrets and should no longer be. I feel so fortunate to be in The Ocean State!
