About Me
By day, I'm the Product Manager for the FuseCal.com. In my spare time, I'm trying to make Providence the world's mashup capital, via MashableCity.org.
Back in the day, I co-founded East Transit Techologies, and before that, I studied Computer Science and Math at Brown.
My proudest accomplishment is snatching the lowest RI Nexus user id (16) of anyone not directly affiliated with this site or RIEDC.

One of my favorite (and completely unexpected) experiences from SxSW was being exposed to the game Werewolf. Not only is it a lot of fun, but it turns out to be a great way to get a group of people talking and inadvertantly networking.
A number of folks I met there were from a group in Portland, OR that has monthly Werewolf meetups. Would anyone here be interested in meeting up in Providence for an occasional game?
Anyone else planning to attend the SxSW Interactive Festival?
This will be my first time there... any hot tips from SxSW veterans?

Congrats, Jack!
I can't decide whether this is just awesome, or if we should feel a little violated... either way, like it or not...

Has anyone found any interesting activity in the footage?
I was curious if anyone has any experience with Amazon's Elastic Computing Cloud (EC2) service, and would be willing to tell me about your experiences with it. We're investigating it for use in products at Public Display, and it looks great on paper. Any hidden downsides we need to be aware of?

Word. I wound up with an unprecedented 3 copies of the Concentric event in my Google Calendar- all from various feeds I subscribe to, none that I directly entered.
Derive what you will from that as far as how big this is going to be...
THANKS so much to everyone who came out.
I had an awesome time playing with y'all and look forward to many more games. Let's make it even bigger next time!
Cheers cheers cheers,

We're back from Web2Expo in San Francisco, and it was definitely worth the trip, even despite some fairly major snafus.
We were in the Long Tail Pavilion, which certainly attracted the right crowd to our booth: early adopters and venture capitalists. I think FuseCal demoed really well and made a great impression. For sheer fun, SxSW still wins in my book, but for return on investment, I think this trip might have been our best yet.
I don't have a whole lot of media from the trip to share, but I did give a video pitch in our booth that you can see in our blog at http://blog.fusecal.com/2008/04/web2expo-video-pitch/... Perhaps it gives something of a feel for the expo floor?
We now officially have space reserved!
Providence WerewolfWednesday, April 30 at 6pm
Jake's Bar and Grille (map)
373 Richmond Street
Providence, Rhode Island
Again, please RSVP either in this thread or via my contact form, so I can let them know if our expected turnout changes. Thanks, and see you Wednesday!
We had a room full of close to 30 people (mostly newbies) going at one point in Austin. So, I'm not very worried about having too many people... the biggest limitation will be the size of the space we find (and to a lesser extent the number of people willing to take a turn moderating).
It's easier for me if folks would try to get when2meet working, but if it's acting weird, feel free to post in this thread which of the following evenings work for you:
- Sunday, April 27
- Wednesday, April 30
- Friday, May 2
- Saturday, May 3
Again, I'll pick the time based on this feedback, and post the decision here tomorrow or Thursday.
