Are you tired of living an inactive lifestyle? Do you want to do lose weight and gain energy, but aren’t motivated enough to start exercise and diet by yourself? There may be a solution to your problem. Registration for Shape Up Rhode Island is coming up.
Shape Up Rhode Island is a non-profit organization that is trying to help Rhode Island obtain a healthier lifestyle. Founder and Chairman Rajiv Kumar believes in a program that help people lose weight by using peer support and teamwork. His theory for weight loss is this; “Shape Up RI is the answer – a way to activate and engage Rhode Islanders, build a strong sense of community spirit, and harness the power of teamwork to inspire us to change our attitudes and behaviors toward our health.” Over 35,000 participants have lost weight using this program since 2006.
The Shape Up Rhode Island program works as a competition to see which team loses the most weight by May 2nd. Create a team and not only can you lose weight, but you can also win some prizes in the process. It’s a win-win! Team should consist of 5-11 people to enter a weight loss division but under 5 people can still participate. Formulate a team with friends or family to strive for a common goal.
Registration is Saturday February 6th at Rhode Island College. For more information click the links below or call 401-421-0606.
