About Me

I am a Rhode Islanda. Born, raised, schooled, and ventured - all in RI. Now I am giving back to the community that gave me so much. I serve on the Gabelli School of Business at RWU advisory board, run a software venture growth firm out of Cumberland, RI called VentureFuel and a whole bunch more - mostly aimed at RI and NE ventures. You can check out Linked-In  http://www.linkedin.com/in/paullavallee and my VentureFuel website.

I have build and sold a half dozen software companies, and turned around several more. I have a number of M&A's which were successful (from both buy and sell side) and have had 5 successful IPO's. I love helping RI businesses so call me.

Born in Pawtucket, RI; Raised in Cumberland and graduated CHS, RI; Married in Berkley/Ashton RI; BS,Acctg at RWU in Bristol, RI; MBA at PC in Providence, RI; First industry job at Newman Crosby Steel Mill in Pawtucket, RI; Next MIS manager job at TACO Heating in Cranston, RI (John Jr was in school back then and apprenticed with me); Started my first software company (Advanced Systems Engineering, Inc. in Woonsocket, RI (which I sold in 1987 to System Software Associates and made my first $ millions out of RI - used DWQuigley Investment Banking out of Prov., RI on the deal. As an alum, and RWU Gabelli School of Business advisory board member, I am pretty excited about this project. The Bristol campus has always been a beautiful and inspiring place to be. Even more so with this. And the global emphasis of new media and language at the university and this building is a great strength for the state.

I guess in Northern RI we are pretty lucky with all the food choices around here !

Never more than 10-15 minutes away. Several places in Woonsocket in the old mills (Gian Carlos, Vintage, River View...) are great, the new Italian place Luciano opened up across from Lincoln mall, the Chinese place in Lincoln Mall, all the amazing stuff in Prov, and the great value at places like Fortune House in Cumberland (who we're calling for take out tonite...) You can eat for $10-40 /person and experience a very wide variety of foods and environments.
