My motto in life is 'be useful'.  Related to my family motto which is 'we don't care if it's not broken, we can make it better".   Interesting rules to live by, a balance between the two is necessary to be successful.

Married to a wonderful woman, two great kids just now leaving the nest for Graduate School. This may be our last summer together for a while.

For fun I am involved in Stone Soup Folk Arts Foundation as President for the last 5 years.  Just ran a RI version of American Idol to promote community and help develop musicians in RI. 

Now that spring is here I'm preparing my Victory Garden. Lots of vegetables and some fruit that I know is organic.  I enjoy getting my hands dirty and growing enough to give away.

 I've had several careers, mostly in information technology. After 28 years I've been  taking advantage of a nice severance package to think about what's next.  I enjoy project management. Despite the very controlling sound of that role it is primarily one based in leadership and some necessary organization and controls to be functional. The joy of it is identifying the need, assembling a team and fulfilling the need. 

I am a certified Project Management Professional and am active in the Project Management Institute local chapters in RI and Massachusetts.

Recently had a nice short term engagement in project rescue and management consulting. Helping a small company turn a large project around and make some decisions on how to support the technology going forward.  

Looking for more steady employment now. Trying to decide between in-house and consulting, leaning towards consulting.
