Howdy all. So, I'm working on a story for PBN about health insurance and start-up businesses -- looking at whether the cost of health coverage makes purchasing it prohibitive for new companies when they're still in early days. Since a lot of you have start-up experience, I was hoping some of you could talk with me about what you did for health care when you were first starting up -- whether it was your own company or working for somebody else.
Were you offered insurance? If not, did you purchase it on your own or just go with out? Were you worried about not having it, or just saw that as the price of admission for being on the ground floor of a new firm? How long did it take before you were offered health insurance (if you were)?
Any and all feedback is appreciated. My deadline is coming right up, so if you can share a story, please drop me a line at nesi@pbn.com as soon as possible. And thanks!
Ted
Who's going to DL it? I'm interested to hear first reactions.
Hi all. I'm the new technology (plus environment and energy) reporter for Providence Business News. You might already have seen some of my first few stories pop up in the News Radar. First, I wanted to say hello to the community here; and second, I wanted to make an appeal for tips -- because there's no news without sources, and there's no better source for info-tech and digital media information than RI Nexus.
Is your business getting ready to make a major announcement? Have you noticed some new trend among you and your colleague? Do you think a local firm deserves to be spotlighted in a story, Main Street feature, or the weekly e-newsletter? Do you think one of my stories was half-baked, at best? (That last is, of course, highly unlikely!)
If so, I want to hear from you. Drop me a line at nesi@pbn.com. I can't make any promises about whether I can write about a suggestion, but I promise that I will look into whatever comes my way. Thanks!
Ted
