About Me

I am the youngest of 6 children, born and raised in northern RI, product of the Lincoln school systems (LHS '81) and took a full-tuition scholarship to RI School of Electronics from '81 to '83.  In September of 1983 I started college at the University of Rhode Island, I entered as a Physics Major with the intention of transferring into Electrical Engineering.  I minored in pitchers at Twin Willows, playing pool at Bonnet Lounge and touring happy hours at Schillers, The Point, Bon Vue, Caesar's and Iggy's.  Social engineering stole time away from my studies.  Dorm life at Bressler Hall was also less than cooperative to schoolwork as well.  In May of 1984 URI Residential Life decided that my time in the dormitory system was completed and they suggested I move "off-campus" or into fraternity living.  Frat life was not my ideal, but it fit for convenience, so I became a "slimy boarder" ... a non-brother, living within the confines of 69 Upper College Road ... Sigma Alpha Epsilon.  Ruh-rah, ruh-rah, ruh-rah, ree ... SAE was not for me!  I switched to Journalism and I spent the next 3 years off-campus bartending, painting houses, doing freelance copywriting, and proofing for American Mathematical Society and part-time schooling leaving URI in 1988 just 6 credits shy of my BA in Journalism.  The late 80's and early 90's were much of the same minus the schooling ... in 1991 I met my soon to be wife, and began working full-time for the American Mathematical Society travelling the country as a Conference Coordinator.  I completed my URI degree requirements in 1996 (after 13 years you'd have thought they'd offer me a doctorate but NO).  In the late 90's I was a Marketing Director for a Providence based Business Law Firm departing in 1998 to get into radio advertising sales for two large radio conglomerates (Citadel and Clear Channel) sandwiched around a stint as a Director of Corporate Relations for a small golf retailer with bigtime aspirations.  I retired from Radio sales to enter into the Financial World with a large local Credit Union as A VP of Business Development & Sales.  Early 2008 found me as a Director of Sponsorship Sales for a smalltime local Sports Marketing firm and late 2008 found me going solo in the consulting and sales world, while seeking meaningful full-time employment.

Jack of all trades - Master of none ... is an unflattering, self-analysis that seems to be why the Advertising & Marketing world has always been my best fit.  I am a little bit off my rocker, often not Politically Correct, I talk too much and listen too little.  I love to network and BS and spend way too much idle time on my laptop.  I am a husband, father of 4, coach, mentor, dictator and subordinate.  But, I have a little insight into a lot of worlds and an inquisitive nature that translates well into solid relationship building, and I can create results for a variety of businesses.
